Hello, this is one of your loyal fans. I've been listening to Avenged Sevenfold for about 7 years now. I’ve listened to every album you guys have put out, starting with Nightmare, and till this day Nightmare is one of my favorite albums of all times right before City of Evil. I love the vivid guitar riffs of Synyster Gates, the thundering drums of the Rev.
However, this letter isn't about that. This is a letter distressing my concerns on the lack of impact of your latest album. I recently watched the movie "The Shack" with my wife. I've never read the novel that this movie is taken from, and so my comments are based purely on the content of the movie itself, and not any specific passages from the book. Since any excerpts from the book that I might take theological issue with do NOT appear to be in the movie, it doesn’t deter my appreciation for the fact that this can be a great springboard into many useful conversations about God and how He works in our lives.

First for taking a casual ‘coffee show’ comment and making into a ‘moment of the show’, and then outrageously venting your heart out against one of the most talented actresses of today’s times at a forum such as LSE where she wasn’t co-invited or had an opportunity to put up a defense. Now is the right time to tell the world why I have loved Nashville so much over the years. And trust me I will always love Nashville.
A few years back, I don’t even know where Nashville was in the US, I have no idea what country music was, and I didn’t even know most of the cast … I was looking for a TV Show to watch and I read some pretty good things about a show called « Nashville ». I must say my heart broke seeing you in the state you were on your first live video. As someone who has suffered from depression and felt so upset to the point of suicide because of the way a loved hurt me, I get it, I get you. I know you are hurting. It’s a type of pain that nothing anyone says can help. I understand, I get you. I guess what I’m trying to say is Be strong, be courageous. I want to start off this open letter by getting something out of the way, and that is that I understand. Trends are what they are and there's little to nothing that can be done. An audience wants to see what it wants to see. What is popular is what is popular.
I also understand that, with a few exceptions, your audience retention hinges on you keeping a viewer engaged with your video, and that means showcasing the latest game to come out, be it Triple-A or indie, be it PC, console or both.
