Open Letter to Representatives on Vaccine Safety: A Call to Action
14 July 2016
Dear Representatives:
If vaccines are to be part of our public health policy, then vaccine safety is absolutely critical and every issue of vaccine safety should be taken seriously and swiftly addressed.
Vaccines are considered by Congress, the CDC, the FDA, and manufacturers as pharmaceutical products that are by their very nature "unavoidably unsafe." The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 (NCVIA) eliminated vaccine manufacturer liability for injury and death and established the National Vaccine Compensation Fund, funded by taxes. VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System), was also established as a voluntary passive surveillance system that is severely underutilized. The CDC...

To Million Mask Marchers,
We will soon be arriving at November 5th 2016. The Million Mask March/OpVendetta started as humble protests towards scientology but has now evolved embody the feelings of the outspoken, the mistreated and the 99% of the world and become the million mask march we know and love.
We must remember that change does not happen over night.
No matter how many protests we do our efforts will be marred by the violent few who are taken in by agent provocateurs. To be tricked by them is for them to win, to discredit us by less than 1% of the people who attend. We must be vigilant and ensure we know the laws that they impose upon us. Check the laws surrounding wearing masks and if the police have the right to take them off you, check the laws on gathering in a public...

Dear Ambassador Martin Lousteau,
I am an upset US permanent resident of Pakistani origin/citizenship. My husband (a US citizen) and I have a passion for motorcycling and traveling around the world. We have so far traveled to as many as 25 countries. This year…to mark my 30th birthday, we were looking forward to adding 5 more South American countries to our travel logs and had planned an epic motorcycle journey in South America and the highlight of that trip was going to be our ride through Patagonia all the way down to Ushuaia, Tiera del Fuego. We planned and saved up for this trip for a whole year and now our plan has gone for a toss thanks to the Consulate of Argentina in Chicago. As you probably know that the route from Santiago to Ushuaia goes back and forth between Chile and...

I was on the tram taking my son to school. I had my baby daughter in the buggy. When we got on the tram was packed. We could not get in any further then the door. When the tram pulled up at your stop I could hear you complaining loudly about blocking the entrance with my buggy. You kept saying that I should have used the space for the buggy as that what it was for. People started getting off and then there was space for me to do that.
I could not do that when we got on because there it was packed. I am very angry and hurt that you decided to judge me and complain loudly about me when you do not know why I was by the door. You just assumed that I was doing it on purpose. I was not.
You had your daughter with you. What example do you think that you set?
Why did you not think...

Every summer the Eugene Police Department does an incredible thing for incoming kindergartners. They run a summer camp to teach kids about safety. As a parent of two children (one of whom went to Safety Town), I can say without a doubt that this camp is an invaluable asset to our community.
However, I have one major concern. The camp uses NRA teaching materials. The NRA's political actions make our kids less safe, not more. They believe suspected terrorists on the "no fly list" should be able to buy guns, they believe assault weapons designed for military use should be sold to the public, they believe it is okay to sell guns without doing universal background checks, they believe that domestic abusers and the mentally ill should be allowed to buy guns, and they believe the government...

Let me take a few minutes to "appropriate" black culture,
Like that ignorant speech jesse williams was the author,
Your speech, it help further racial divide,
You might as well spit in MLK's eye,
You say sit down if i don't support your resistance,
I support equal rights and closing the distance,
It's funny you speak about racial equality,
On a channel and it's name is B.E.T?!
I could be wrong but the "B" stands for black
The exclusion of white, how right is that?
In your speech you dropped some names,
But not a mention of police officers killed so what is your game?
One thing I do know two wrongs don't make a right,
But only focusing on one, how does that solve your plight?
So here Mr. Williams I have a little advice,
If we come together we can all enjoy paradise,
But...

Dear Calum,
On June 27th I was the most upset and worried I have ever been when I heard the news of you being attacked for your sexual orientation. On June 28th, I was even more upset and worried when I heard it might not even be true.
When I was 12, I was chased through a park by a group of older students. I had no idea why, or what it was for and if it wasn't for it being a suburban area I'm not sure what would have happened. This is a story I had told myself over and over again. But I knew why, I knew what would have happened to me if I might had been a little slower, if I had no where to run. So to me hearing your story hits home, it is something that is one of my biggest fears. Its why I wear a sweater over top of a shirt that says "Love is Love" until I feel safe enough to...

I'm reaching out to you today because I really feel the need to talk to you about your health. because obviously that's important , duh right? lol .
I also just feel like writing for awhile and yes.... this is another one of those "stupid" open letters.
Dear ..reader
I know right now you may feel like the world is coming to an end or that you're trapped in a crippling, dark tunnel that you can't escape from. Right now you see no exit, right now you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, right now,you probably don't even think that there is one.
But I want to tell you that there certainly is.
Now please don't mistake me, I'm not here to tell you to "cheer up" or "just be happy" or the famous "just get over it", but I am telling you to hold on just a little bit...

Dear Anorexia,
You do not define me. You are not my friend, and you are not me. You have pushed me beyond my limits of unhappiness, yet I have found comfort in the growing sense of disease. For a long time you have provided me comfort in your everlasting presence, but you are not my friend.
I read a quote the other day, it asked "if the thoughts of your head became your friend, how long would the friendship last?". Truth be told our friendship would not last. My father taught me that everyone is always a bit crazy, that is in fact the beauty of the retched world, but when one's crazy begins to impact your life it is no longer tolerable. You became my crazy. You drove me from friends, from family, and from everything I stood for.
As I pondered this question presented I began to...

'We want our country back'!
Was this what you wanted? This unrest as racism and xenophobia ripple through the UK? Was this what your grandparents fought for - division, in the country you live? Abuse? Hatred? People feeling scared? Are you happy now?
Shame on you all those that voted out because of immigration.
Yes our borders should be tighter. Yes it's scary the thought of terrorists in the country. But no matter how tight the borders are, bad people will always get through. And the majority of immigrant who took to our country are hard working and good hearted and, actually, proving to be a lot more decent then some. The bad people will always find ways of crossing borders. Fake passports. Back of lorries.
Unemployment is not as bad as you believe. Have you looked at the figures...
