This is a warning to anyone and everyone who is thinking about coming to China to work as a foreign teacher. Unless you already have an invitation letter from a public school, university, or a foreign based international school - STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not take another step. You are walking through a minefield of scams.

This link explains research we just conducted that proves 60% of all the online China job ads are frauds. http://www.worldlawdirect.com/forum/china-news/90418-china-scam-patrol-a...

20% of the ads are posted by identity thieves who will cause you about $10,000 of grief and legal fees (to restore your good credit and keep you from being arrested in China) Read here for some insight http://chinascamwatch.wordpress.com

The China Foreign Teachers Union reported in 2014 that 52% of all foreign teachers were cheated at least once a year in China, and mostly by their own recruiter, agent, or employer. But here is the scary news... If you take the wrong job for believing the wrong agent and you come to work in China on anything other than a Z visa, you have a 50% chance of getting arrested, jailed, fined $2,000 and deported with a felony conviction and a 3 year re-entry ban.

So to make yourself scam-proof read up on the below links and believe nothing that is not written in your contract that is both signed and chopped (red company seal). The employer must furnish you an original hard copy (Scans and copies are not legally-binding in China) Now read up below and you will be able to continue your walk through the minefield with much better odds of keeping your wallet intact and your ass out of a Chinese jail.
