To the people of Syria,
If I could write this on paper and send it I would. I would love for this letter to fall from the sky into your hands. I want to say I am sorry, I am sorry that our government is so so misguided. Shame on them.
They do not represent the people of the U.K we want to protect human life, not destroy it. We want to help bring peace, we do not support our government. Our prime minister is a pig.
I don't know how to help, I tried - many people did, we wrote to our PM's pleading to vote against air strikes, we lost our fight, our democracy failed.
It must feel like there is hatred towards your country for such aggression to be inflicted, but it is not so, we the majority do not think this is the right way to peace. We do not wish this upon you. The powerful few made this decision. There is no hatred here. We the everyman do not agree, we do not want to add more pain to a situation already out of control. We do not condone the bombing. We are sorry. We are scared. We are filled with horror at the thought of the damage our government is going to cause, and our hearts and heads hang heavy with dread. We despair that we have no control.
I cannot imagine how you feel, I can't begin to comprehend all you have been through but please know we are thinking of you, we are deeply saddened by all that is happening. We are ashamed.
We are all brothers and sisters of the world, hope and love are all I have to fight with and I want to offer hope and love to your land and its people. I wanted to stand with you not against you when you need us the most, so although we have failed you please know that as an individual, I along with 1000's of others stand with you and weep, and we ask for redemption for us all.
