Moms,
Having cancer must suck, it must be horrifying and it might not make sense. At least when I found out that my mom had cancer, that's what I felt. I don't know what being a mother is like, for I am only a teenager and a kid at heart. But I do know that when a women has a baby, they come attached to them and they are usually their bundle of joy.
My mom and I never had the perfect mother-daughter relationship. For most of my life, we fought, and my mom would spend hours crying because she didn't feel like she was being a good parent. But she was and she is. She's the best mom in the world, it's a different type of relationship with your mom when you become older I have heard.
Cancer is a horrible thing. It's terrifying and it's heartbreaking. I remember the first time I found out that my mom had cancer. I cried, that's all I could do. A part of me just wanted to yell at God and another part of me just wanted to tell her it was gonna be ok. She told me she would fight it and that she wasn't going anywhere, for that wasn't God's plan.
Since then my mom has been going through three rounds of cancer, she has cancer right now. But she's fighting it, that's all I could ask for.
So to the moms who are struggling, everything will be ok. You will fight and you won't give up. Think about your kid, think about how much they need you. We can't see the future, we don't know what's gonna happen but live everyday with no regrets. Also remember this, it is better to have loved and feel pain then never have loved at all. My mom taught me that. Your kids need you, but most of all you need them. So fight. Fight like hell. If you are feeling down then read this and hopefully this will encourage you to fight. It's so important. Take this from a teenage girl who has a mother who has had cancer for 5 years. Just wanted to share my thoughts.
