If dead people have been voting for years, why doesn't that mean the elections are rigged?

In school when you vote for student council, would it be okay for past students to come back and vote? No, it isn't.

If that isn't okay then why is it okay for the dead to vote? Last time I checked, they can't communicate very effectively with us so how do we know if they are still Democrat, Republican or Independent? I would think they would like to vote correctly and for the party they choose.

With advanced technology you would think our government would be able to "purge" the system of dead voters. But how can they do this when they can't quit sending Social Security checks to the dead, distinguish if a name is masculine or feminine (I have had two female friends be sent threatening notes about registering for Selective Service in the past ten years and one friend who was drafted during the Korean War. She had to take her birth certificate in person to the draft office in her hometown before they believed her.)

Can we take a poll among dead voters to see what party for which they identify? Maybe they are Republicans but from the articles I have read, they are primarily Democrats.

If this really is the case, my grandmother, God rest her soul, is probably still voting the straight Democratic ticket since her death in 2004. My father always said she would vote a monkey into office if it was on the Democratic ticket.
